CommUNITY Fundraising is the perfect way to combine your creativity and passion. YOU have creative control to bring your fundraiser to life and help work towards a world free of melanoma.
Step 1: Goal

Set a realistic and attainable goal for you and your attendees to reach

If you are not sure about a realistic fundraising goal please let us know. We are happy to share our experiences with you.
Step 2: Date & Location

Give yourself plenty of time to prepare for your event and choose a date far enough in advance

Most popular time for an event is early spring through the fall

Be mindful of holidays and don’t forget to check your community calendars for conflicting events

Choose a venue that will be easy to get to and accessible for all participants

Don't forget to ask if they will offer the venue at a discounted price or at a non-profit rate.
Step 3: Create A Timeline & Budget

Allow for enough time to complete your goal and create a timeline that works for you and your goals

Setting your budget is the most important part of planning your event

You are responsible for the costs of the event

Plan to not spend more than you can cover upfront

You can reimburse yourself for any upfront costs prior to sending the proceeds to the MRF
